Gail Whitman, MD

Dr. Whitman is a board certified dermatologist who completed her residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. She has been in practice for more than 25 years and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Whitman also completed a residency in Pediatrics prior to Dermatology. Dr. Whitman prides herself on providing patients with a supportive and caring environment where they receive the best possible medical treatment. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and families. Over the years she has built a community of loyal patients and developed deep relationships with not only her patients but also her staff. She has worked with many of them for decades and the patients appreciate the bond with them as well. In the modern world of medicine where people feel rushed and sometimes not listened to, she is proud of the warm, close environment she has fostered.

In her free time Dr. Whitman enjoys spending time with her children and her granddaughter. She also is passionate about volunteer work and over the past 12 years has spent every summer volunteering at Camp Discovery, a place that children with chronic, sometimes even fatal skin conditions can go to experience a week filled with outdoor fun, friendship, and personal growth. It is an environment where kids can be free from judgment and not be defined by their skin conditions. Dr. Whitman has developed a strong bond with both the campers and fellow dermatologists that run the camp.

She also has done volunteer work in a clinic in Kenya and has been involved for years in Builders Beyond Borders, an organization that brings high school students to build projects for impoverished areas in South America.

In addition, she is an avid animal lover and has been involved with aiding the baby elephants in Kenya and has helped rescue and foster dogs from China and Afghanistan.
